| Using HID Bulbs On Your Electric Bike |
|
What are you going to do? Well, you've stuck some reflective tape to your jacket and your bike helmet, and you've attached some reflectors to your pedals and your fenders, but you're thinking that it is probably not enough to make you shine brightly in the darkness, especially when the street lights in your neighborhood are poorly l it, and the drivers in your city pay less attention to the roads than they do to their wives. The headlamp that came with your bike isn't the brightest bulb in the world, and you're thinking that maybe you could attach a really cool high-intensity discharge (HID) lamp to your bike to help brigthen things up a bit, and make you just a little bit more visible to Johnny Neighbour, who can barely see past the hood ornament on his giant Dodge truck. HID kits, such as the D2r Xexon bulbs, are a neat accessory for your e-bike, because not only are they brighter, allowing you to see what's on the road in front of you, but they also use less power than traditional lamps, saving you a little bit more battery power on your electric bike. When you've only got a limited amount of juice on your bike, it's a much better alternative to use lower powered headlamps, than turning the light off, riding carelessly in the dark. |
